Local Information
The historic village of East Chinnock nestles amongst the undulating hills of South Somerset, midway between Yeovil and Crewkerne on the main A30. Its position is ideally suited to Ramblers or those with an interest in Wells Cathedral or the history of Glastonbury , or simply exploring the spectacular Jurassic coastline of South Dorset and East Devon just 15 miles away.
Yeovil is the largest town in South Somerset and a centre for local and regional services. It is located 4 miles north-east of East Chinnock, and offers an excellent variety of shopping, recreational and cultural facilities. For National Trust enthusiasts, Montacute House - one of two remaining Elizabethan mansions built entirely of Hamstone - is located just 10 minutes away. Ham Hill Country Park is 4 miles from us, and offers wonderful views over the South Somerset, Dorset & Devon countryside.
To the south-west, Crewkerne is located 4 miles along the A30 and, whilst smaller than Yeovil, offers many comparable facilities.
Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park and Forde Abbey are both located near the A30 outside Crewkerne, less than 15 minutes drive from us. Windwhistle Golf club can also be found on the A30 opposite Cricket St. Thomas.
